Full Sessions vs Mini Sessions | Which is Better for you? | Luxury Boudoir Photography Minnesota

In this blog, I’m going to be going over the main difference in full sessions versus a mini session so you can see which experience may be best for you.

Let’s get into it.

Mini Sessions:
  • 20-45 minute shoot time (depending on the event)
  • Only makeup included, you have to arrive with you hair done.
  • 1 Outfit.
  • Fast paced and sometimes feels rushed.
  • Set posing every client coming in that day is doing.
  • Only once or twice a year
  • One or 2 themed Sets/backdrops

Mini sessions are great for people just wanting to test out boudoir, OR for more experienced models wanting a quick shoot to expand your portfolio. You only get a set, short amount of camera time which often leaves you feeling like “that’s it?” once your time is up. There’s only really time for one outfit, so you get one solid clean look to your photos rather than a diverse set.

Full Sessions:
  • 1-1.5 hour shoot time
  • Full Hair and Makeup
  • 3-4 Outfits
  • Time to get creative and get unique photographs
  • Can be booked anytime, all year round
  • Option of Classic Studio, After Dark or Couples sessions available
  • More session add on customization options.

Full sessions have my heart. There is more time for us to do our thing and for you to get into the flow of the session. These are great for those who want to not feel super rushed and to really want the whole experience. You get both professional hair and makeup to get you all dolled up, client closet access with personalized styling so you don’t have to worry about if your outfit looks wonky, as well as more outfit options which gives your gallery a more diverse look. You can have the choice of doing your session without regular set up (most popular), after dark (our new set up for winter evenings) or to bring your significant other along for a steamy couples session. I also have a list of custom add ons that you can add on to your session fee to make your session unique to you including Polaroid images, a 1 minute highlight film, GIFs and more. With full sessions, the creative possibilities are endless and a great way to get a personalized experience.

There are pro’s and cons to both sides, so it’s important to take the time to think about which kind of session will be best for you. If you have any questions at all please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help.
