I think it’s about time I show off the space I utilize for all my photo sessions. The Hive House Studio in Stillwater, Minnesota. This gorgeous studio is located on the very North end of Downtowns Main Street and have a great view of both the St. Croix River & Historic Downtown Stillwater. The studio is owned by my good friend Rachel DesJardins of Rachel DesJardins Photography and is the perfect place to host my gorgeous gorgeous girls and pamper them endlessly.
The Main Room
This is the space we will probably be spending the most time in. This space is WIDE open with a TON of natural window light which makes it the best space to shoot in. I love playing in this space and getting creative with the light coming in. Shooting against the windows creates such a gorgeous moody feel to my photos, while having the windows to the side of my subject & myself lights the shot perfectly while still maintaining some depth and shadows that I absolutely adore.
The Wall
So simple, yet so dynamic. This wall isn’t just pink, it’s got a metallic look to it which makes shooting adjacent to it a dream. We can create some gorgeous semi silhouettes that have a reflection/shadow on the wall or have you set up in front to have a more traditional backdrop look. Either way, this wall is definitely a favorite for everyone!
The Bedroom
I freaking LOVE the bedroom! Now, I always strip the bed down from it’s usual set up at the hive to just the sheets and give it a “just slept in” look by messing up the sheets strategically, which creates a much more intimate setting and makes it feel like a real bedroom rather than a staged set up. This room has a ton of dynamic range and can be photographed at any angle which makes it the perfect setting for the more sensual & “just woke up like this” shots!
The Moody Room
This room might possibly be my favorite rooms to shoot in, I can really play around and get a dynamic range of photos in this room. We can play on the couch or roll it away to utilize the black wall. Sitting on the floor or standing, we can create some fun & beautiful art in this space! Oh and can’t forget this gorgeous lamp that adds an amazing pop of warmth to the photos!
Getting Ready Suite & Client Closet
This is where we will start your boudoir session. Our Dream team of hair & makeup specialist will take great care of you, hyping you up as they glam you up and take from from everyday to SLLAYY! We have a ton of empowering artwork coming in to decorate the space and uplift you before your session and a wide range of available lingerie & outfits for you to utilize at your session. We have size xs-4xl to make sure everyone is included and has a backup just in case we don’t love certain outfits.
